The Vision of tip me is a world in which fair products are common practice.

Our Mission is to offer solutions for fair products. We want to enhance transparency and accountability in supply chains and support consumers in making informed and sustainable decisions. To achieve this, we use the digital possibilities of our time.

How everything began

f.l.t.r. Jonathan, Helen, Robin.

At conferences, Jonathan met two of his team members. Helen has worked with several NGOs in the field of poverty reduction. Robin studied  supply chain transparency.  
Together they transformed an idea into a social enterprise. The motivation continues to be the same: to reduce global inequalities and to create easy and accessible solutions which enable everyone to have a positive impact.  

Jonathan came up with the idea behind tip me during a demonstration against Primark. He was convinced that it was wrong to pay less for a t-shirt than for a coffee. He distributed leaflets from Oxfam saying that only 3% of the prices of a t-shirt go to the sewers. If we could send a couple of cents to the stitchers in a direct and safe manner, we could have a significant impact on their lives. A simple but powerful idea, that still moves Jonathan today.

We want to support producers in reaching their goals and dreams. It is not our task to tell anybody what to do, but to support people on their own journey. 


Our mission is to create both a fair salary and a new way of consumption. We make the people and the story behind your product visible. By doing so consumers can rethink the journey every product has to make and buy in way that is sustainable for the producers and the planet.

Imagine you buy a t-shirt and you see learn more about Joseph who has produced it. Imagine you could give people like Joseph a tip.
But to contribute to change, we have to give customers easy options of making the world a better place. We believe that a fair globalization is possible. But it requires transparency, empathy and easy option to have a positive impact on the world.
To achieve this, we combine the ancient tradition of giving with today’s technologies. We create the global tip.

Problem orientated and focussed on impact

tip me was founded to solve the problem of unfair supply chains. The whole team is comitted to this vision and the workers around the globe are the focus of our daily work. Working on eye-level, transparency and respect are among our core values. We want to tell stories of people to make consumption both conscious and sustainable. As Sajida a garment worker from Pakistan says: “Our shoes are very comfortable. Wear them until the end.”


How is tip me funded?

tip me receives a provision from our partnershops, because they profit from positive marketing. This allows us to send 100% of your tip to the people who made your product. This shows, that not only you, but also our partnershops are contributing to shaping a better tomorrow. 


Why tip me doesn’t tollerate greenwashing of companies

In order to work with tip me, partner brands need to prove responsibility and transparency along their supply chain.  tip me only works with brands which are fair, sustainable and respect the criteria of the International Labour Organization (ILO). This entails among other aspects.

  • no child labor
  • no forces labor
  • no discrimination
  • fair salaries
  • right to unionize

This allows us to ensure that our partner companies also contribute their share to making fair and sustainale supply chains the norm.
